This vacancy announcement may be used to fill positions at various organizations across the Department of the Navy, including but not limited to the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC). Pay Ranges: San Diego CA and Camp Pendleton CA: $121,585 - $158,062 Washington D.C.: $121,785 - $158,322 Pearl Harbor and Honolulu HI: $111,119 - $144,457 Norfolk VA: $108,019 - $140,426 Silverdale WA: $131,841 - $171,396 Jacksonville FL: $106,437 - $138,370 Kittery ME: $120,548 - $156,715
What You'll Do
- →You will use civil engineering software for the completion of design drawings, specifications, and other civil engineering projects.
- →You will apply civil engineering theories, concepts, and practices to the repair, restoration, and/or alteration of existing facilities.
- →You will formulate and present special reports and formal briefings concerning the status of civil engineering and construction projects.
- →You will investigate, evaluate, advise on, and resolve unusual problems and issues regarding projects for new construction, renovation, preservation, and restoration.
- →You will provide technical guidance on facility designs, construction, operation, and modification.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
