- →Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking a dynamic, seasoned leader to serve as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Office of Nuclear Energy (NE).

- →The primary duties in this pivotal role will include: Executive Operations and Administration: Direct the full range of NE Headquarters Federal operations, including policy implementation, strategic planning, budget formulation, human resources, and information technology to support the mission of the Assistant Secretary.
- →Strategic Policy and Advocacy: Provide an executive perspective on domestic and international nuclear policy, representing DOE leadership in high-level discussions with Congress, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, industry leaders, and foreign governments.
- →Energy Sector Security and Resilience: Lead Department-wide efforts to strengthen the security and resilience of the energy sector against emerging threats, enhancing response, recovery, and shared situational awareness.
- →Program Management and Oversight: Act as the primary Headquarters point of contact for Management and Operating (M&O) contractor performance assessments, fee determinations, and Price Anderson Enforcement actions to ensure operational efficiency.
- →Organizational Leadership and Integration: Provide technical and administrative supervision over subordinate organizations, direct the recruitment of senior managers and technical experts, and align critical programmatic functions with the agency's overall strategic goals.

Requirements
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
