You will serve as a Chief of Staff with Office of the Secretary of Interior, in Washington D.C.. The incumbent serves as a senior advisor to the Deputy CHCO for Operations and the Deputy CHCO for Policy, coordinating strategic and operational priorities, providing advice, counsel, analysis, and oversight regarding issues, policies, and executive-level initiatives of the most critical nature impacting the mission, strategic goals, and operations of departmental human capital programs.
What You'll Do
- →Leads integration and implementation of Deputy CHCO strategic objectives, operational plans, and enterprise-wide human capital priorities; oversees policy development, governance processes, organizational performance metrics, and cross-functional implementation activities.
- →Manages internal operations and administrative functions of the Office of Human Capital (OHC) immediate office, including staffing actions, performance management, internal communication processes, continuity planning, onboarding, transition support, and workforce development for executive staff.
- →Oversees internal and external communications to ensure clarity, consistency, and timeliness of messaging across OHC and departmental stakeholders; coordinates briefing materials, memoranda, and reports for senior leadership, including the Secretary, Assistant Secretary for Policy, Management and Budget, and other high-level officials.
- →Ensures timely coordination, quality assurance, and resolution of high-priority actions across OHC; facilitates responses to Congressional inquiries, Government Accountability Office (GAO) and Office of Inspector General (IG) audits, and other senior leadership requests requiring sensitive handling and executive-level review.
- →Supervises staff by setting goals, assigning work, reviewing deliverables, evaluating performance, approving awards, negotiating deadlines, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions when warranted.
