About the Role

The incumbent is assigned to the Tuskegee Maintenance Section, Engineering Service, Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS). The primary functions of this position includes, but is not limited to, repairs, alterations, and modifications to structures such as framework, doors, windows, interior and exterior trim and staircases with accuracy, structural soundness and appearance.

What You'll Do

  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.
  • Work schedule subject to change based on agency needs.
  • Position Description Title/PD#: Carpenter/PD09284A Physical Requirements: Work requires considerable standing, stooping and bending.
  • Work on scaffolds and ladders are usually overhead work which will require stretched, cramped or awkward positions.
  • Incumbent may lift and carry items that weigh approximately 50 lbs.

Requirements

  • Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
