About the Role
You will serve as a CARPENTER TRAINING LEADER in the Public Works Business Line of NAVAL STATION.
What You'll Do
- →You will interpret drawings, blueprints, or specifications to determine the layout, work sequence, and type of lumber or special related material required for a project.
- →You will operate portable power tools associated with woodworking and carpentry (e.g., drills, routers, pneumatic nail guns, electric hammers, skill saws, portable table saws, circular saws, sanders, joiners) to perform work.
- →You will train or provide instruction to junior carpentry workers.
- →You will use shop mathematics for the construction, installation, repair, or modification of structures.
- →You will advise other carpentry workers on the best methods to use in meeting deadlines.
- →You will determine the grade, size, and type of lumber or wood substitute material required to maintain close tolerance fits and structural soundness.
