About the Role

You will serve as a CAREER SERVICES SPECIALIST in the Personal and Professional Development (P&PD) Branch of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.

What You'll Do

  • You will research information on local and national career, education, and/or recruitment processes and standards, and labor market trends, and produce supporting materials for distribution to clients.
  • You will utilize and maintain systems of outreach strategies and community partnerships in an effort to ensure the widest utilization of programs, standard operating procedures, and methods of technology-based service delivery models.
  • You will provide individualized instruction, advice, and guidance to assist clients with completing their Individual Development Plan (IDP) and Individual Transition Plan (ITP) in support of their post-separation goals.
  • You will advise clients on developing skills required by employers and provide information on the entrance requirements for colleges, universities, and vocational/technical institutions.
  • You will be responsible for instructing standardized curriculum and facilitate trainings.
  • You will be responsible for assisting clients in developing job search skills such as resume writing and interviewing techniques.
  • You will be responsible for helping clients relate and align their values, interests, abilities, and skills to facilitate their participation in approved programs in support of their transition into the civilian workforce.

Requirements

  • Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR Possession of an LL.M., if related.
