This Business Manager (U.S. Antarctic Program) position is located in the Antarctic Infrastructure Logistics (AIL) Section, Office of Polar Programs (OPP), Office of the Director (OD). The primary purpose of the position is to provide management and oversight of business operations for the AIL Section and to help ensure that business infrastructure is responsive to Program functions and aligned with budget resources.
What You'll Do
- →As a Business Manager for the U.S.
- →Antarctic Program (USAP), you will perform the following duties: Develop and document all policies and procedures for effective and consistent business management of USAP, ensuring they are in alignment with U.S.
- →National Science Foundation (NSF) policies and procedures.
- →Serve as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC).
- →Oversee the completion of audit remediation activities for prior year NSF Office of Inspector General (OIG) audits.
- →Provide audit management for ongoing Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) and financial audits.
- →Review reports in areas related to business processes and OIG audits to recommend corrective actions that are considered authoritative and serves an expert in the field.
- →Ensure appropriate integration between the Office of Polar Programs (OPP) financial oversight support contractor and the ASC in activities related to the financial statement audit.
- →The selected candidate may be required to perform limited supervisory duties of a few staff members.
- →Provide day-to-day supervision of a limited number of subordinate staff including workload distribution and prioritization, performance evaluation, identifying developmental/training needs, developing performance standards, etc.
Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S. citizen.
- ✓Selectee will be required to have a background investigation prior to onboarding.
- ✓Additional Requirements: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade/equivalent.
- ✓You must meet eligibility and qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date.
- ✓You must answer all job-related questions in the NSF eRecruit questionnaire and any external assessment that is included.
- ✓Antarctic travel is advantageous for this position but not mandatory.
- ✓Completion of a physical examination according to standards used for U.S.
- ✓Antarctic Program (USAP) medical/dental screening is required in order to travel to Antarctica.
