About the Role

The Budget Analyst position for the Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System is primarily responsible for applying budget analyst theory, concepts, methods and procedures connected with budget formulation, and execution of the VA's particular programs, systems, procedures, function, and structure.

What You'll Do

  • The Budget Analyst actively supports the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Department by performing the following duties: Experience working with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Has experience creating formulas in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience building charts and graphs in Excel.
  • Experience inputting data into a chart or graph and determining if any trends in the data exist.
  • Experience building presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Able to build slide layouts and backgrounds.
  • Able to give a presentation to an audience using a PowerPoint presentation slide deck.
  • Experience researching through policies, procedures and handbooks to answer technical questions from customers.
  • Experience working with SharePoint - has the ability to post documents into a document library, ability to navigate within SharePoint to find useful information, and the ability to do basic SharePoint page design.
  • Analysis and Problem Solving - Applies the process of discovery that involves the diagnosis of a problem or issue, identification and gathering of relevant information, formulation and evaluation of alternative solutions or courses of action, and selection or recommendation of the preferred solution or course of action.
