About the Role
This position is with the VISN 12 Great Lakes Finance Service (GLFS), located at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, Hines, IL. The incumbent serves as a budget analyst for the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center and or Hines VA Hospital.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties: Knowledge of budget and finance regulations, procedures, and processes for budget formulation.
- →Analyze and compare selected object class and line item obligations and expenditures.
- →Determine whether funds are being used on a timely basis to support the medical center's mission and objectives.
- →Writes brief factual reports that detail the purposes for which funds were obligated and expended.
- →Apply, commonly used budget and finance principles, practices, and methods.
- →Estimate funding needs and requests for allotments are in line with program plans.
- →Analyze and evaluate changes in program plans and funding.
- →Enter consolidated estimates in accepted formats on appropriate forms and schedules.
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm Telework: This position may be authorized for ad-hoc telework.
