About the Role

Serves as a Budget Analyst for a Program Office (Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Integrated Veteran Care (IVC)). The position is located in the Business Operations Directorate (Bus. Ops.) within the Share Services Directorate of IVC but will move under Veterans Health Administration - Finance by the end of the fiscal year supporting community care. Provides financial, budget, and other program support to management on a wide range of health benefit administration matters and activities.

What You'll Do

  • Contributes to the development, operation, administration, and reporting of IVC's financial operations budget.
  • Prepares budget justifications used in the presentation of the Program Office budget.
  • Provides advice and assistance to supervisors and managers on development of budgetary requirements.
  • Prepares detailed analyses and estimates for annual funding needs for one or more future budget years.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and reports information on the projected costs and future programs and activities.
  • Provides authoritative interpretation of legislation, Office of Management and Budget (0MB) policies and precedents, and Agency policies and impacts to the mission and function of the Directorate.
  • Conducts reviews and audits of fund control point activities to ensure appropriate usage of funds.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements budgetary policies affecting the financing and accomplishment of Directorate and IVC's programs, goals, and objectives.
  • Maintains and oversees budgetary data in a variety of sources, systems, forms,schedules, and reports.
  • Prepares budgetary reports related to the status of funds, expenditure amounts, obligation totals, full-time employee (FTE) requirements, and projected obligation amounts.
  • Develops new methods for acquiring information and interprets reports and other budget and finance data for program review and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday Telework: This position may be authorized for ad hoc telework.
