About the Role
About the Position: The U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command, headquartered in North Chicago, IL, is a jointly staffed command, staffed by representatives of all branches of the Armed Forces. The command, through its 65 military processing locations (Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS)/Remote Processing Stations (RPS)), determines whether applicants are qualified for enlistment based on standards set by each of the services. This position will be filled on a Permanent basis.
What You'll Do
- →Develop a balanced funding request that complies with published fiscal constraints.
- →Ensure expenditures of funds are in accordance with established regulations.
- →Develop justification statements for multi-year appropriations.
- →Recommend approval or disapproval of requests for funds.
- →Develop an obligation plan for the systematic use of funds provided.
- →Provide guidance to staff on a variety of financial management questions.
- →Coordinate various services to manage reimbursable programs.
- →Monitor funding execution using automated budgetary systems.
- →Ensure the accuracy of the formal accounting records.
- →Present budget estimates to the command to convey budget constraints.
- →Prepare justification for requests for additional funding.
- →Analyze a variety of complex budgeting policies to determine overall impact to the organization.
- →Interpret data and operational plans to understand financial needs.
- →Review financial reports for payroll appropriations.
