About the Role
The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is located in Curatorial Office, Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM), Undersecretary for Museums and Culture. SAAM shares the stories of our nation through American art and craft to inspire reflection, spark dialogue, and build connections.
What You'll Do
- →Monitor and evaluate budget execution to ensure funds are executed in accordance with approved program guidance.
- →Study sources of data utilized as the basis for recommendations of fund adjustments between apportionment categories or for new projects not yet within current apportionment.
- →Participate with various management officials in developing the strategy for presenting the budget and provide advice on policy implications, regulations, and legislation.
- →Review, interpret, and implement budget guidance as applicable to budgets for assigned program areas.
- →Identify problem areas, researche, determine, and implement corrective courses of action.
- →Analyze budgetary relationships and develop recommendations under tight deadlines, short and rapid changes in programs, and gaps in program and budget objectives.
- →Provide advice and guidance to leaders on the interpretation of budget estimates and formulation of budget requests.
- →Develop proposed budgetary and procedural guidance, develops summary charts, and highlights issues with background information so that effective budget decisions can be made.
