About the Role

This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Office of Habitat Conservation (OHC), with one vacancy in Silver Spring, MD. What You'll Do

  • As a Budget Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Support higher level analysts with the preparation of annual budget estimates, operating plans and labor projections for the Office of Habitat Conservation (OHC).
  • Analyze, review and revise budget estimates, justification statements and execution plan for office programs.
  • Assist in reviewing and timing of allotted funds to programs and prioritize use of financial resources.
  • Conduct analysis of financial conditions of programs and present findings and recommendations to management.
  • Plan, develop and execute financial practices and procedures to enhance the validity, accuracy, timeliness and integrity of financial processes.
  • Utilize automated systems to input, review and analyze cost data for budget planning and execution.
  • Collect historical data, workload statistics and objectives to prepare budget forms and statistical summaries needed to formulate the required budget.

Requirements

  • This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS).
  • Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band.
  • The ZA-3 is equivalent to the GS-11/12.
