About the Role
The incumbent serves as a Budget Analyst and participates in funds control within the Institute/Center and supports the Budget Officer in the formulation, presentation, and execution of the Institute/Center's budget. These positions are located within several Institutes/Centers within the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), in Montgomery County.
What You'll Do
- →Compile narrative and statistical material and prepare exhibits and other information concerning the Institute/Center budget for use in briefing higher level officials.
- →Prepare background material for use in briefing officials for Congressional appropriations hearings.
- →Coordinate the formulation of the budget for intramural and/or extramural activities as well as administrative support.
- →Analyze budget revisions and provide evaluation and guidance on budget submissions.
- →Verify accuracy and adequacy of budget data submitted in comparison to historical documents and data trends.
- →Monitor the execution of approved operating budget to assure that funds are properly allocated.
- →Provide advice and assistance to managers in the development of budget requests.
- →Analyze and evaluate continual changes in program plans and funding and their effect on financial and budget program milestones.
