About the Role
The Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Inspector General is currently looking for a Budget Analyst in the Budget and Contracting Division. Join our professional team of auditors, criminal investigators, and inspectors who help support DOE's mission through performance and financial audits, inspections of management issues and administrative allegations, and investigations into alleged violations of law.
What You'll Do
- →As a Budget Analyst, you will: Lead in the entire process of planning, apportionment, allocation, or sub- allotment, analysis of requested program enhancements, analysis of forecasting requirements, and anticipation of programs.
- →Participate in forecasting the five-year budget projections, budget operating plans, and mid-year review requirements to ensure formulation of accurate and realistic financial management plans for the Office of Inspector General budget.
- →Manage financial assets and activities of the OIG nationwide, including the budget necessary to support the programs and operations.
- →Develop and analyzes OIG resource needs and prepares written justifications regarding those needs.
- →Prepares annual budget plans and projections for management's use at budget hearings employing empirical data from prior year's records.
- →Compare financial plans and estimates with current year program accomplishments, operations costs, rates of obligation/expenditure, and project of costs.
