About the Role
This position is part of the War Media Activity. The incumbent is responsible for assisting and providing back-up for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) Budget Division Chiefs. This includes, but is not limited to, developing data for presentation to Office of the Under Secretary of War Comptroller (OUSW(C)) staff, and Congressional staffers/representatives; providing guidance and assistance to subordinate budget analysts.
What You'll Do
- →As a BUDGET ANALYST at the GS-0560-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) in the development and preparation of data for assigned Component financial plans, budgets and Five-Year Defense Plans (FYDP).
- →Formulates and revises budget estimates for the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Other Procurement (OP) funds within the WMA organizational elements.
- →Forwards budgetary justifications and recommendations to the OCFO Budget Formulation Division Chief.
- →Monitors and tracks civilian pay expenditures and provides analysis on status of funds and civilian pay projections to Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
- →Analyzes WMA's monthly execution reports, reports actual execution against annualized spend plan, submits annual spend plans in Department of Defense reporting systems such as ADVANA.
- →Serves as the alternate Risk Management Internal Control (RMIC) Program POC, responsible for establishing a risk and internal control assessment process and adequately assess and improve financial internal controls over operations, reporting and compliance.
- →Documents and reports any material weaknesses and/or deficiencies and develops, implements and validates Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) related to findings.
