About the Role
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Finance, Budget Directorate, Budget Formulation, Integration and Systems Division, Systems Branch Washington, DC. What You'll Do
- →This position serves as the subject matter expert in formulating budget requirements for all phases of the budget cycle within the Budget Directorate of the Office of Finance.
- →You will perform budgetary functions in support of major programs.
- →This position starts at a salary of $102,415.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $158,322.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $158,322 (GS-13 Step 10).

- →Typical duties include: Projecting and analyzing the potential effects of budgetary actions on program viability and attainment of program objectives.
- →Monitoring the execution of budget resources with many different sources and types of funding, such as direct multi-year appropriations, allotments from many different appropriations, transfers of funds from other agencies, reimbursements for services performed, revenue from working capital funds, and trust accounts.
- →Reviewing, edits, and consolidates the annual and multi-year budget estimates for assigned organizations and program offices in CBP into a single budget request.
- →Assisting in activities to establish financial and budgetary goals and timetables, and other criteria against which the relative costs and benefits of program achievements can be measured.
- →Identifying and analyzing trends in the receipt, obligation, and expenditure of funds to ensure that agency objectives are being met on a timely basis and that funds are available and being properly and effectively used to support program objectives.
