About the Role
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Spokane Sector Headquarters, Targeting and Intelligence Division, located in Metaline, WA. Additional selections may be made beyond the total number of vacancies specified using this vacancy announcement. Further selections may also be made for additional organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
What You'll Do
- →This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally.

- →This position starts at a salary of $92,467.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $120,209.00 (GS-12, Step 10).
- →Typical duties will include: Collecting, refining, analyzing, and disseminating strategic and tactical intelligence to support USBP operations and inform leadership decisions.
- →Conducting frontline border security operations, including tracking, patrol, traffic and transportation checks, and international boundary integrity activities using a variety of technologies and conveyances.
- →Assessing immigration status, processes, transports, and removing aliens as appropriate, preparing detailed case reports, and supporting criminal and administrative proceedings through affidavits, warrants, and testimony.
- →Participating in and representing CBP on interagency task forces and joint operations, coordinating with Federal, state, local, tribal, foreign, and JTTF partners to address complex transnational criminal activity.
- →Mentoring and training lower-graded Border Patrol Agents by providing coaching, field training, performance feedback, and instruction on operational methods, procedures, and priorities.
