The Clinical Engineering Service is seeking a full-time Biomedical Engineer for the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston South Carolina.
What You'll Do
- →This position is aligned under the Office of the Chief, Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) Service, receiving supervision from the Assistant Chief, HTM.
- →They will achieve assigned professional objectives that supplement the required core objectives required to fulfill requirements for the Biomedical Engineering Career Field.
- →Typical duties may include, but are not limited to: Incumbent is independently responsible for management and oversight of one or more programs within HTM, such as device security, recalls, equipment reviews, or High Cost/High Tech.
- →Assignments require judgment in adapting practices and techniques to specific situations usually through a series of related processes.
- →He/She must use resourcefulness and initiative in independently planning the details for the accomplishment of assignments.
- →The incumbent must be able to learn new technology, identify trends, and have the ability to communicate this information in an advisory capacity to administrative, clinical, and technical staff.
- →He/She must be able to utilize this information to solve biomedical engineering problems.
- →Presentations may require written and oral communication as well as preparation of technical, informational, analytical, and graphical documentation.
- →The incumbent must have knowledge of the medical equipment management plan, must have the ability to participate in medical device hazard investigations, and assure compliance with patient safety goals as needed.
- →Independent research and biomedical engineering project management are expected of the incumbent.
- →The incumbent must have knowledge of organizational concepts and an understanding of operational needs.
- →Duties or projects typically include facility based work, and may include VISN or National Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) projects.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

Requirements

- ✓Citizen to apply for this job.
