About the Role
The Assistant Aircrew Program Manager (AAPM) (Boeing) serves as a full assistant to an Aircrew Program Manager (APM) and is responsible for the adequacy of aircrew ground and flight training/testing and standards for Alaska Airline's Boeing aircraft. They assist in the management of Boeing programs including designated examiners and/or Aircrew Program Designees.
What You'll Do
- →Under the general direction of a Front-Line Manager and an Aircrew Program Manager, accomplishes the following duties: Technical- Develops a work program in ensure periodic surveillance of designated pilot examiners, pilot check airmen, and company training programs.
- →The AAPM assures Alaska Airlines conducts flight crew training and testing required by Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR), FAA- approved training programs, and current testing standards.
- →The AAPM oversees Alaska Airlines check airmen and APDs.
- →They serve as the technical advisor to the Supervisory Principal Operations Inspector (SPOI) on assigned areas of Alaska Airlines training and testing programs.
- →They coordinate technical instructions, policy orders, and procedures through the SPOI to assure uniformity of training and testing activities.
- →Certification- The AAPM recommends the designation of APDs and pilot examiners.
- →They conduct flight tests, additional type ratings, proficiency tests, initial qualification tests, and line-oriented flight training.
- →They assure standardization of check airmen and designated examiners and recommends to the SPOI any changes which are considered necessary.
- →Surveillance- The AAPM monitors assigned areas of the flight crew training program and associated records to ensure compliance with 14 CFR, national and regional directives, and safe operating practices.
- →They monitor Alaska Airline's ground and flight training and attend Alaska Airline's company and safety meetings.
- →They evaluate training programs to ensure that they meet the requirements of 14 CFR.
- →The AAPM approves or disapproves these training programs including flight simulators, training devices, or other such equipment used in these programs.
- →They may require amendments to previously approved manuals to accomplish the following: correct any conflict with regulatory requirements; eliminate unsafe practices; and/or improve the specificity of instruction.
- →The AAPM performs other duties as assigned.
