About the Role

This position is located at Region 3 Forest Service Office, Fire & Aviation Management, Regional Aviation Group. This position serves as an expert in providing technical expertise and knowledge on all avionics issues regarding aircraft and aviation maintenance and works as a team member for projects of the National Airworthiness program. What You'll Do

  • Manage Regional Aviation Maintenance Program.
  • Serve as team member for projects of the National Airworthiness Program.
  • Inspect and approve contractor and cooperator aircraft, fuel service vehicles, support equipment, and maintenance personnel.
  • Participate on Aviation Safety Assistance Teams (ASAT).
  • Participate in contract evaluation panels, review teams, and audits.
  • Ensure maintenance on Working Capital Fleet (WCF) aircraft.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S.
  • Citizen or National.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service or exempt.
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.

  • Must hold a current and valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Power plant (A and P) Certificate.
  • A copy of the certificate is required.
  • Must hold a current and valid Federal Aviation Inspection Authorization (IA).
