About the Role
This position is located in the Division of Nursing Services, Nursing Resources, at the Gallup Indian Medical Center (GIMC), Gallup, NM. This position provides supervisory coverage for the facility, bed control and staff management for coverage of patient care; collaborates and coordinates admissions, discharges and transfers of patients. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
What You'll Do
- →Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Registered Nurse Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Serve as Tour Supervisor performing the full range of administrative and clinical duties as well as providing consultative work within the Gallup Service Unit.
- →Coordinate bed management between the emergency department, clinics, inpatient units and other Indian Health Service (IHS) or Contract facilities.
- →Utilizes the patient acuity and classification systems by collecting data.
- →Manages patient flow for admissions, discharges and transfers.
- →Participating in management by walking rounds to ensure continuity of nursing care is provided safely and routinely by performing concurrent patient chart audit to ensure compliance.
- →Educate and assist staff with performance improvement requirements and reviews work status along with progress on an ongoing basis.
- →IHS Selectees whose duties and responsibilities require them to work permanently, temporarily, or occasionally in an IHS healthcare facility must comply with the IHS Employee Immunization Policy related to vaccine-preventable diseases, consistent with recommendations for healthcare workers.
