About the Role
The Kansas City VA Healthcare Network is recruiting for Assistant Registered Nurse Manager (ANM) for Nursing Acute Care assigned to 8West. The ANM has responsibility and accountability for the direction and oversight of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and provides input into the evaluation of individual staff performance. Functions as a role model, educator, practitioner, and leader to the team.
What You'll Do
- →The Assistant Registered Nurse Manager (ANM) is accountable to and supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with duties, responsibilities, and accountability for the 24/7 operation of the designated unit(s).
- →They provide coverage for other ANMs as needed.
- →The major duties and responsibilities of a Assistant Registered Nurse Manager include but are not limited to: Enhances care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes.
- →Engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth.
- →Adheres to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels.
- →Equips staff with tools for competent care and promotes an environment of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
- →Promotes alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence.
- →Contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care.
- →Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- →Aligns nursing and clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution.
- →Promotes a workplace positively to achieve the organizations vision and mission.
- →Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP).
- →Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- →Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and creating innovative process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
