About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →The Assistant Nurse Manager position is located in the Primary Care Service at the VA WRJ Healthcare System, located at the Rutland, VT location.
- →The Assistant Nurse Manger will support the Nurse Manager in overseeing clinical operations at Community Based Outreach Clinics located in Brattleboro, VT, Bennington, NH and Rutland, VT.
- →The primary duty station is Rutland, VT.
- →This position is full-time at 40 hours per week and is roughly 50% administrative and 50% direct patient care.
- →Included but are not limited to: The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for Primary care supports the Primary Care Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties and responsibility and accountability for the 24/7 operation of their designated unit.
- →The ANM has responsibility and accountability for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and provides input into the evaluation of individual staff performance.
- →They function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team.
- →They enhance care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes.
- →The ANM also provides hands-on patients care including chronic disease management, post hospital discharge follow up, wound care, immunization administration, triage assessments for both walk-in patients and telephone encounters and other Primary Care delivery needed by Veterans.
- →Functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care.
- →Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components.
- →Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- →Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and creating innovative process improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
