This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Architect leading design teams, managing project plans, budgets, schedules, and reviewing work from outside firms. Oversees military and civil building projects across Alaska, including offices, housing, warehouses, power plants, and training facilities.
What You'll Do
- →Leads building design projects by coordinating teams, managing schedules and budgets, and reviewing work from outside firms.
- →Inspects project sites, solves design and construction issues, and ensures projects meet safety and quality standards.
- →Prepares plans, specifications, and project documents for military and civil facilities across Alaska.
Requirements
- ✓QUALIFICATIONS CONTINUED MINIMUM QUALIFICATION GS-12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: developing architectural plans and specifications for the construction or renovation of buildings; reviewing architectural project designs to ensure they meet technical requirements; working with engineering teams to coordinate building design and construction.
- ✓This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
- ✓Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
- ✓For this job, at the GS-12, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
