The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a civilian instructor for modified E-9A Widget and QF-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft pilots and both full- and subscale drone controllers. Ensures proficiency and currency requirements are met. Maintains and enforces all flying requirements IAW AF and MAJCOM instructions.
What You'll Do
- →Instructs airplane pilots/drone controllers on aircraft operations.
- →Assesses pilots to determine currency and proficiency.
- →Assists in planning and oversight in addition to other duties related to flying and accomplishment of the unit operational and training mission.
Requirements
- ✓KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge and skill in the application of rated aviator expertise as a pilot.
- ✓Possess a current Commercial Pilot Certificate (airplane, multi-engine land) or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (airplane, multi-engine land) or the appropriate military rating, a Class 2 FAA medical certificate.
- ✓Have logged a minimum of 1,150 hours of fighter time as aircraft commander (pilot-in-command) for assignment to the FSAT or 1,500 hours of multiengine time for assignment to the E-9A, 500 hours of instructor time and have flown at least 100 hours in the last 12months.
- ✓Knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, and techniques for employment of unit-assigned aircraft.
- ✓Knowledge of flying operations and the unit mission.
- ✓Knowledge of the relationship of various Air Force entities in the overall planning and execution of military operations and evaluations.
- ✓Ability to resolve complex issues and maintain good working relations.
- ✓Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- ✓PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
- ✓You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
- ✓VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
- ✓Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
- ✓You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
