About the Role
This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. What You'll Do
- →DUTY 1: Serves as technical authority to perform/coordinate/oversee troubleshooting and analysis of gas turbine engines to determine air worthiness of propulsion systems installed on aircraft on the flight line and uninstalled in back shop and test cell capacities.
- →DUTY 2: Coordinates, oversees and performs the disassembly, repair, overhaul, inspection and reassembly of aircraft propulsion systems, sub-assemblies, and components.
- →DUTY 3: Skilled/certified in the operation and maintenance of diagnostic test equipment, on-board electronic equipment, a variety of special equipment, hand, measurement and power tools.
- →DUTY 4: Enforces and complies with safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.
- →DUTY 5: Certify, utilize and enforce the work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program and applicable commercial aircraft/propulsion manuals.
