What You'll Do
- →You will coordinate and direct the control of air traffic within assigned air space and vehicular traffic operating on runways, taxiways, and other designated movement areas of the airfield.
- →You will brief the tower watch on weather conditions, traffic, equipment status, and field conditions.
- →You will ensure that all controllers meet and maintain published requirements for currency on each applicable qualified operating position.
- →You will evaluate student controllers through written and verbal critiques.
- →You will study and provide advice on proposed changes to procedures, airspace configuration, training and airport systems.
- →You will participate in formal and informal meetings and conferences with senior level military and civilian agencies concerning proposals for revised procedures, training or systems.
- →You will sequence and apply appropriate separation between aircraft under the Control Tower's responsibility.
- →You will maintain continual surveillance and operation of airport movement surfaces to ensure pedestrian, vehicle, and aircraft compliance with operating rules.
- →You will train student air traffic controllers in any or all of these duties on an individual basis and ensure safe, proper, application of service while instructing the student in technique and procedures.
