This position serves as an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic within the Maintenance and Operations Section of Engineering Service at the VA Health Care System in Marion, IL. The Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance and repairing all HVAC&R (heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration) equipment and controls.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as a maintenance mechanic in the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) section within the Engineering Services, at the Marion VAMC.
- →Duties include but are not limited to the following: Maintains, repairs, installs and modifies complex air conditioning , heating and ventilation (HVAC) equipment and systems.
- →Visually checks leaks and performs an audible examination of equipment.
- →Inspect, test, and repair a wide variety of air conditioning systems including all appurtenances Start, stop, and visually inspect major air handler units, chillers and circulating pumps.
- →Read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, wiring diagrams, and manufacturers handbooks Performs other related duties as assigned.
