About the Role

This position serves primarily as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HV AC) Mechanic. Performs overhaul, installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of various types of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment which is characterized by moderate complexity of design, construction, and function. Provides basic electrical or plumbing repairs, to other that HV AC equipment, when required and must have rudimentary knowledge in these fields.

What You'll Do

  • Primary Duties Include but are not limited to: Provides comprehensive technical support for all air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
  • Discusses maintenance problems with technical personnel.
  • Exercises skill in interpreting electronic, electrical, and mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics of custom systems.
  • Provides support for the operating, maintaining, repairing and adjusting HVAC controls systems.
  • Completes work orders and Preventive Maintenance using proper maintenance practices and following manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Maintains complex electronic systems and equipment which are vital to the hospital's ability to provide health care.
  • Takes proper corrective action to restore the device to its fully operational level.
  • Responsible for updating the equipment spare part inventory program when withdrawing from spare part inventory cache to make repairs.
  • Completes work orders and Preventive Maintenance using proper maintenance practices and following manufacturer's recommendations in order to extend the life of equipment.
  • Provides technical support of these systems includes the preventive maintenance, installation, evaluation, troubleshoots, repair, calibration, testing, and modification etc.
  • Employs improvising troubleshooting practices when needed.
  • Performs all work using proper safety practices and Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Selects the proper tools Must know the principles and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration, temperature measurement, properties of refrigerants.
  • Performs basic electrical and plumbing repairs.

Requirements
