About the Role
This position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the Mental Health Division.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties: Provide effective and efficient communication by greeting patient, answering phones, and scheduling appointments, admissions, discharges and/or transfer for Veterans.
- →Provide general office support by ordering supplies and services.
- →Maintain medical record and assist Veterans in completing questionnaires and form.
- →Provide clerical and office automation support to the medical/program area they are assigned to but may be temporarily assigned to assist in other areas of the Mental Health Division to provide coverage.
- →Coordinates with the assigned patient care team to review with clinical utilization by using various reports (e.g., Clinic Utilization Statistical Summary).
- →Ensure that the clinic setup is closely monitored to effectively support the needs of the clinic, and make any necessary adjustments.
- →Develop/maintain effective and efficient communication with the patient, BHIP team, VA medical center, and other agencies.
- →Set priorities and deadlines, adjusting the flow and sequencing of the work to meet team and patient needs.
- →Monitor pre-appointment requirements to assure readiness for patient visit/procedure (e.g., X-ray, lab work).
- →Manage electronic view alerts in CPRS and validate accuracy and resolve issues.
- →Participate and provide input in problem solving on operational issues or procedures in team meetings, performing administrative follow up actions.
- →Participate in and independently following up on team huddles by sharing information and clinic schedule lists to determine whether patient is vested.
- →Educate provider about shared patients (those who receive their care at multiple VAs or those who have care in the community) and bringing to the attention of the provider.
- →Verification of Veteran's eligibility, insurance verification, processes admissions, discharges, and Veteran/Patient transfers according to work-area procedures.
Requirements

- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
