The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) under Nursing Services is responsible for performing a variety of technical and clerical support duties that facilitate the work of physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the Orlando VA Healthcare system who provide direct patient care assist the Veterans and their families on a host of administrative matters, Medical Support Assistants are considered chief sources of patient care an patient flow information.
What You'll Do
- →Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) Responsibilities include functions such as serving as the initial point of contact for the Community Living Center.
- →Responsibilities include, but are not limited to scheduling patient appointments, tracking, reviewing, and responding to electronic orders, consults, and other elements in the electronic medical record and medical systems.
- →The AMSA at this grade level will function as the timekeeper for the assigned unit; will have a thorough knowledge of timekeeping procedures as well as VATAS and the ACUStaf timekeeping program.
- →Will track consistent assignment on automated tool ( spreadsheet or database as locally preferred).

Requirements
