About the Role
You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Comptroller Department (01), Accounting Division (012), Corporate Financial Accounting Branch (0121) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. ***Open to applicants at Current Organizational Code - 01, UIC 00164 (includes divisions, branches, sections.)
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as Financial Accounting Lead in the Corporate Financial Accounting Branch and will lead the Financial Accounting team.
- →You will perform financial analysis in relation to execution, indirect, service cost center, revenue, and net operating result in collaboration with the Corporate Budget team.
- →You will represent the Accounting Division on various Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) teams and strive to address audit findings.
- →You will work closely with Department Financial Leads, project analysts, supervisors, and Business and Financial Management (BFM) personnel to perform necessary analysis of financial items.
- →You will ensure accurate reporting of financial items for the monthly business meeting.
- →You will ensure products align to NSWC Crane’s strategic goals and objectives while striving to utilize continuous improvement and digital transformation methods to provide better products and services.
- →You will lead the Financial Accounting team in the timely completion of period end/quarter end/year end close of NSWC Crane’s financial statements.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: A.
- ✓Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
- ✓The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
- ✓(The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard.
- ✓Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") OR B.
- ✓A combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
- ✓Your background must also include one of the following: Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality.
