About the Role
You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Contracts Department (02), Far Services Division (022) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. ***Open to applicants at Current Organizational Code - 02, UIC 00164 (includes divisions, branches, sections.) The NT-06 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project.
What You'll Do
- →You will determine and influence the contracting policies, strategies, and award decisions by leading the development and execution of acquisition, contracting, and agreements strategies.
- →You will lead interdisciplinary teams of experts in engineering, logistics, finance, law, contracting, and other career fields, to provide innovative, best-value solutions to complex contracting problems.
- →You will conduct pre-proposal conferences as appropriate with qualified contractors.
- →You will hold discussions and negotiations with the sources in order to arrive at mutually agreeable contract prices or terms.
- →You will prepare and review acquisition plans and submit to program personnel and the program manager.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
- ✓NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000.
- ✓Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement.
- ✓Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement.
