This vacancy is for an Administrative Support Specialist in the Bureau of Industry and Security within the Department of Commerce.
What You'll Do
- →As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Analyzes management information requirements; develops procedures and systems for assessing the effectiveness of programs, information flow, and a wide variety of management processes; and develops, analyzes, and evaluates new or modified program and management policies, regulations, goals, or objectives.
- →Edits a variety of reports and correspondence ensuring a quality product, perform queries of Bureau of Industry and Security databases and databases provided by other agencies, and other written reports based on findings.
- →Evaluates and recommends improvements to various internal procedures and methods.
- →Uses initiative to devise and recommend changes in administrative procedures and office policies to ensure their applicability to changing needs or changes in administrative regulations.
- →Reviews all correspondence prepared for the supervisor's signature for grammar, construction, format, and compliance with the supervisor's viewpoint.
- →Advises writers of the inadequacies.
- →Advises subordinate units on administrative and procedural requirements and instructions.
- →This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Administrative Support Specialist GS-0301-13, FPL GS-13 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location or local commuting area with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Requirements
