About the Role
These positions are located in Southern Arizona Office, in the Administrative Division. Open to the first 50 applicants or until 07/24/2026 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.
What You'll Do
- →The positions are integral members of an administrative team.
- →Along with the Administrative Officer, Budget Analyst, Administrative Specialist, and another Administrative Support Assistant, they will support the managers and employees of Tonto National Monuments, as well as the Southern Arizona Office.
- →As the Administrative Support Assistant, the selected candidate will work closely with the park superintendent, serve as a technical assistant for a wide variety of administrative matters at the park, and perform a narrow selection of functions for the Southern Arizona Group.
- →The positions are developmental in nature.
- →The selected candidate will join the team in an entry level (GS-05) capacity and will have the opportunity to learn new skills and advance to the full promotion level of GS-07 in as few as 2 years.
- →For the position located at Montezuma Castle & Tuzigoot (Camp Verde): The primary purpose of the position is to provide assistance to the superintendents and staff of Montezuma Castle & Tuzigoot (Camp Verde), with administrative processes, including human resources, acquisition and property management, and other administrative services.
- →The positions are integral members of an administrative team.
- →Along with the Administrative Officer, Budget Analyst, Administrative Specialist, and another Administrative Support Assistant, they will support the managers and employees of the Southern Arizona Group, which includes Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot, as well as the Southern Arizona Office.
- →As the Administrative Support Assistant stationed at either location, the selected candidate will work closely with the park superintendent, serve as a technical assistant for a wide variety of administrative matters at the park, and perform a narrow selection of functions for the Southern Arizona Group.
- →The position is developmental in nature.
- →The selected candidate will join the team in an entry level (GS-05) capacity and will have the opportunity to learn new skills and advance to the full promotion level of GS-07 in as few as 2 years.
- →These positions will initially be responsible for the following duties: Serving as the primary timekeeper for the park.
- →Reviewing time and attendance reports for employees and assuring reports are entered correctly.
- →Advising supervisors and employees concerning questions about pay, hours of duty and leave.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship required.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
- ✓Complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required.
- ✓Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- ✓Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service); with few exceptions as outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
- ✓Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal civilian employees applying for reinstatement who have had a break in service of less than one year, as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointments.
- ✓Time-in-grade does not apply to new excepted service appointments.
- ✓Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- ✓You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties.
- ✓You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists.
- ✓Lastly, you may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
- ✓Please indicate in your application whether you possess a valid State driver's license.
- ✓You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle.
