This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Intelligence and Security (OUSW(I&S)), Enterprise Administration and Management (EAM) Office. The Under Secretary of War for Intelligence and Security (USW(I&S)) serves as the Principal Staff Assistant (PSA) and advisor to the Secretary of War (SecWar) regarding Intelligence; Counterintelligence (CI); DoW-wide Law Enforcement (LE) statute 10 USC 2672; and Security.
What You'll Do
- →This Position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601 If selected, Federal employees currently serving in the competitive service must acknowledge that they will voluntarily leave the competitive service by accepting an offer of employment for a DCIPS excepted service positions.
- →If selected, non-DCIPS candidates must acknowledge that the position they have been selected for is in the excepted service and covered by DCIPS.
- →For more information see https://dcips.defense.gov/ Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Serves as the Chief of Information Management providing strategic oversight and the execution of the organization's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy, Civil Liberties and Transparency (PCLT), and Records Management (RM) programs.
- →Independently monitors all phases of data lifecycle to include the collection, use, dissemination, disclosure and destruction of information within OUSW(I&S), ensuring strict alignment with federal statues and agency policies.
- →Formulates and integrates policy-based processes, roles and controls governing organization wide data and records creation, collection, use, stored and disposition.
- →Safeguards sensitive information while supporting accountability and transparency initiatives.
- →Serves as the Component Records Management Officer (CRMO) ensuring compliance with Federal laws, policies, and records retention schedules across OUSW(I&S).
