About the Role

This position is organizationally aligned to the Safety Section Department at the Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Tomah, WI. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and management related support by analyzing, evaluating, advising, and/or conducting administrative processes and activities for the Safety Section Department.

What You'll Do

  • Administrative Management Provides overall administrative management of the Safety Section Department.
  • Perform a full range of administrative managerial activities and responsibilities, including resource management and allocation , budget development, const accounting, data collection and analyzing, program evaluation and performance improvement of the overall administrative and operational functions of the department.
  • Designs, organizes, and maintains data bases and filing systems.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports memoranda, and other forms of written communication.
  • Attend meetings, prepares meeting minutes, and follow-up on action items with appropriate staff members independently.
  • Human Resources Coordinates the personnel management program, performing or overseeing the full range of human resources requirements.
  • Assist the Safety Section to ensure employees are compliant with established policies and programs.
  • Assists managers and staff in projecting staffing needs, writing position description and/or functional statements, developing job analysis, preparing performance plans, appraisals/competencies, processing training request, and drafting disciplinary and adverse actions.
  • Update and maintain the service 's organizational/functional and staffing charts.
  • Budget and Financial Management Provides budget and financial management that includes budget oversight, justification and execution, financial management, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare budget package for submission to the budget office and responds to all questions.
  • Monitors balances and status of projects and recommends/justifies realignment of funds as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
