About the Role
The position is located in the Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) at the Montgomery VA Medical Center, Montgomery, Alabama. Duties entail oversight of administrative aspects of service to include: data gathering, analysis, tracking, trending and reporting, budget preparation. Fiscal duties including fund control point and other expenditure tracking, interactions with veterans, their families and representatives, writing reports and controlled correspondence.
What You'll Do
- →The incumbent serves as the primary administrative member of their respective service management support team performing the following duties: Serves as the key advisor to service leadership on the evaluation and the effectiveness of service programs and operations, clinic access, scheduling and consult management.
- →Provides leadership with independently developed data and objectively based information for making decisions on the administrative and programmatic aspects of operations and management and advises on potential benefits/uses of process improvement strategies to improve efficiency of programs.
- →Researches and investigates new or improved processes or practices for potential application to service operations.
- →Analyzes new or proposed regulations to determine impact on operations and management and develops new or modified administrative program policies, regulations, goals or objectives to ensure compliance with regulations.
- →Conducts studies of organizational efficiency and productivity and recommending changes or improvements in organization, staffing, work methods and procedures in service programs and clinics.
- →Performs management surveys to determine programmatic compliance with agency regulations, procedures, sound management practices, and effective utilization of staff.
- →Analyzes management techniques, processes and styles for improving facility-wide organizational effectiveness in the Service.
- →Analyzes individual clinics, programs, functions and organizations to determine whether the management systems in current use efficiently accomplish objectives sought and whether they provide controls necessary for sound operational management.
- →Provides position management advice and recommendations to CAVHCS managers throughout the facility including providing advice on the distribution of workload among positions and clinics, and the processes and steps needed to complete the work.
