The incumbent is assigned to the office of geriatrics in extended care (GEC) at the VA Medical Center-Memphis. The AO serves multiple GEC programs as the coordinator, advisor, analyst and planner for the delivery of the health care services for the purpose of administrative coordination and GEC support.
What You'll Do
- →The AO has the principal responsibility to assist the Chief of Geriatrics and Extended Care by fulfilling administrative duties.
- →This allows the GEC chief to devote time to GEC initiatives, planning, personnel issues, overseeing clinical programs, program coordination and the academic aspects of this highly affiliated health care system.
- →The AO applies specialized knowledge of health care management to the planning, organization and evaluation of the delivery of healthcare services to veterans.
- →The AO will provide administrative leadership to the staff in a complex service and supervise GEC clerical administrative functions.
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for the provision of continuity between the various Memphis VAMC service program activities, researching and interpreting internal and external policies, directives, survey standards and regulatory requirements.
- →Responsible for the coordination and preparation of recurring and periodic reports for the Geriatrics and Extended Care Service.
- →Collect data from multiple sources ensuring that precise and accurate summaries are provided for reporting, tracking, trending and reviews.
- →Send quarterly reports to the VISN Hospice and Palliative Care (HPC) program manager.
- →Coordinate the preparation of the annual evaluation of the service quality management activities including scope of service, objectives and effectiveness (in accordance with the current regulations and guidelines).
- →Coordinates all data validation programs for the GEC service (i.e., workload, staffing, DSS, KLS).
