About the Role

This position is in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services (PMRS) and Eye Care Services for the VA Central Ohio Healthcare System, which is comprised of both VA Ambulatory Care Center (VAACC) and five community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs).

What You'll Do

  • The Administrative Officer (AO) serves as the principal advisor to the Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Eye Care Services.
  • The AO participates in the overall administrative, operational management, decision-making, policy development and resource allocation and utilization for the Service.
  • Duties include, but are not limited to: Incumbent will collaborate and coordinate with service and facility leaders on program initiatives and mission goals.
  • Incumbent shall undertake comprehensive analytical evaluations of data analysis and strategic planning and will be responsible for communications with relevant stakeholders.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for conducting in-depth data analysis and strategic planning, representing the Services at various high-level committees, and presenting evidence-based justifications for the necessity of enhancements.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for assessing clinic efficiency, anticipating future demand, and conducting cost/benefit analyses.
  • The incumbent will efficiently and effectively communicate expectations and projections and will frequently and eloquently contribute ideas and strategies to Service Chiefs, Senior Leadership, and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • The incumbent independently implements changes and action plans as needed to optimize service delivery.
  • The incumbent will serve as the primary point of contact for all external communication related to PMRS and Eye Care Services, drafting, reviewing, and managing all external correspondence.
  • The incumbent ensures quality control in external correspondence and provides advice and guidance for improvements, anticipating potential areas of concern or questions that should be addressed when making recommendations.
  • The incumbent will coordinate with referring providers, specialists, and administrative staff to facilitate referral process to ensure a seamless workflow.
  • The incumbent is responsible for organizing, distributing reviews, and keeping records for Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and ensure all documentation is submitted in a timely manner in accordance with regulatory guidelines for all providers within PMRS and Eye Care Services.
  • The incumbent works directly and independently with the Credentialing and Privileging department for all FPPE and OPPE documents, other sites throughout the VISN, and with providers to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • The incumbent is tasked with ensuring the accurate documentation, submission, and management of Market Pay and Physician Pay for Performance documents and metrics, as well as successful submission of both to the VISN Compensation Center of Excellence (CCOE) for completion for PMRS and serves as the back up to the Health Systems Specialist for Eye Care Services.
