About the Role

This position is undergoing a consistency review to ensure proper classification. The final grade and associated salary may be adjusted based on the outcome of this review, which could occur before or after hire. The purpose of the position is to direct and perform all administrative functions within Diagnostic Imaging Service in support of a complex 1A VA healthcare system and is responsible for advising the service management team in these matters.

What You'll Do

  • Duties may include but are not limited to: Supervisory Duties Oversees the daily operation of the unit, ensures that agency policies and priorities are being followed; develops performance standards; and evaluates work performance of subordinates.
  • Gives advice, counsel, and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
  • Hears and resolves minor complaints from employees; refers group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher-level supervisor or manager.
  • Interviews candidates for positions in the unit; recommends appointments, promotions, and reassignments to unit positions; identifies and provides for training needs; and finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of work within the area of authority.
  • Carries out Equal Employment Opportunity policies and program activities.
  • Non-Supervisory Duties Performs budget administration functions.
  • Makes recommendations regarding the need for additional budgetary resources, contracts, and equipment.
  • Coordinates all areas of supply administration, such as expendable supplies, new and replacement equipment, requisitions, repairs, disposal, etc.
  • Initiates and coordinates requests for repairs of equipment, telephone installations or relocations, computers, printers, etc.
  • Independently formulates plans for proper space utilization.
  • May serve as a secondary Automated Data Processing Application Coordinator (ADPAC) coordinator for the service and ensures compliance with lease privilege requirements.
  • Reviews requests for menus, software and hardware and grants access when necessary to accomplish program operations.
  • Serves in the capacity of an additional Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
  • Functions in the capacity of Agency Government Purchase Card (GPC) holder.
