About the Role

Joining the Secret Service will allow you to coordinate and manage a wide range of administrative functions, oversee property and financial management, and maintain accurate records for personnel and office activities. For definitions of terms found in this announcement, please click here.

What You'll Do

  • The selectee will serve as an Administrative Officer.
  • Typical work assignments include: Managing a variety of administrative operations including but not limited to financial/budget administration; billing; travel and credit card purchases; training; audit and inspections; recruitment; inventory controls; property inventory; record management; human resources management and administrative functions; and other functions, as assigned.
  • Reviewing and analyzing administrative policies, clarifying guidelines, and making recommendations for changes to administrative policies and procedures for operational clarity.
  • Responding to administrative issues, inquiries and resolving a variety of conflicts regarding administrative policies and processes.
  • Utilizing best practices in performing a variety of financial and administrative reporting systems to process financial/budget transactions, travel, purchasing, credit card transactions and personnel actions.
  • Utilizing a variety of office automated programs, applications, tools, and systems to generate reports, graphics, charts, graphs, and PowerPoint presentations; metrics and data analytics that can be used by senior-level stakeholders to communicate initiatives; budget formulation and allocation of resources; and administrative policies and procedural changes.
  • Advising internal and external stakeholders on all procedural and administrative functions; preparing responses and providing guidance on various actions.

Requirements

  • Citizenship is required.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

  • Upon completion of your probationary period or trial period your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • For positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying for a position by substituting education or training for experience, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or equivalent.
  • Unofficial transcripts will be accepted that includes your name, the name of the educational institution, course title(s), number of credits, grade, and date of completion.
  • An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
