About the Role

The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is located in the Anacostia Community Museum (ACM), Under Secretary for Museums and Culture, Smithsonian Institution (SI). ACM was established by the Smithsonian Institution in September 1967 as the Anacostia Neighborhood Museum in Southeast Washington, D.C.

What You'll Do

  • The Administrative Officer supports ACM through a combination of management analysis and long-range planning, budget formulation and execution, personnel administration, procurement, facilities management, security and safety services.
  • In this position, you will: Interpret SI Unit polices and develop plans and programs in the areas of budget, personnel, procurement, facilities management, facilities management, safety and other related matters.
  • Oversee all phases of budget formulation, presentation, justification (including development of narrative justification and supporting documents) and execution including the obligations and expenditure of fund in accordance with authorized management objectives.
  • Oversee a systematic procedure for the review and processing of procurement documents within the Unit.
