About the Role
This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), Hampton VA Medical Center (VAMC), in the Pharmacy Service. The Administrative Officer is responsible for directing and coordinating the administrative, operational, and planning activities for the service.
What You'll Do
- →Program Management Review Maintains responsibility for the coordination of the Service's Quality Improvement Programs, which involves ensuring that the requirements of VA Central Office (VACO), Joint Commission (JC), Office of Inspector General (OIG), and the American Society if Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) Residency Program Accreditation are met.
- →Provides and coordinates training and guidance regarding the implantation and use of applicable computer systems, such as the Veterans Integrated Systems Technology Architecture (VISTA), the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS), and other related / integrated computer applications.
- →Creates and prepares change proposals in the labor / management agreement and Medical Center Memoranda.
- →Prepares resource requests for submission to the Resource Management Committee (RMC), ensuring that sufficient justification and supporting documentation are provided.
- →Generates required reports including but not limited to return to clinic (RTC), non-formulary, and unsigned notes reports for management and leadership.
- →Fiscal Management Prepares Pharmacy Service budget projections based upon studies past expenditures, knowledge of team requirements, an understanding of the changes which have occurred in the workload, and future goals.
- →Serves as the Contract Officer Representative (COR) for the Pharmacy Service.
- →Equipment Accountability & Space Utilization / Management Maintains responsibility for the property assigned to the Pharmacy Service, ensuring that the necessary equipment is included in the preventative maintenance program.
- →Personnel Management Maintains responsibility for personnel administration within Pharmacy Service.
- →Reviews, analyzes, and interprets incoming requests.
- →Miscellaneous Attends meetings as the alternate / designee for the Chief and Associate Chief of Pharmacy Service.
- →Provides administrative coordination, in conjunction with clerical support staff members, for Pharmacy Service travel activities.
- →Contributes to the overall management of the Hampton VA Medical Center by participating as a team member / Pharmacy Service representative with other staff members / Service line officials on special task forces, strategic planning initiatives, special studies, etc.
- →Maintains responsibility for collecting, preparing for storage, and archiving Pharmacy Service paper records.
