The position is located at Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Mid- Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), Central Virginia VA Healthcare System, Fredericksburg Health Care Center (FXHCC), Pharmacy section Fredericksburg, Virginia. The Administrative Officer in the Pharmacy section within the Fredericksburg Health Care Center participates with the Section Chief of Pharmacy and Management team in the overall decision-making, policy development and resource planning.
What You'll Do
- →MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Administrative Management Responsible for the coordination of Pharmacy Section Performance Improvement Program including the requirements of VHA, VISN, CAP, Joint Commission, OIG, and FDA requirements as they relate to Pharmacy Section programs and provides input for a broad data base for management decisions.
- →Provides information and participates in Annual Management and Budget Reviews, Management Briefings, and Personnel Management Reviews for functional team, External Review responses, and other reviews as required.
- →Assists in the development of long- and short-term internal FXHCC policies, goals, and objectives.
- →Provides support and workload data for Pharmacy Section to assist the Chief and Associate Chief of FXHCC Pharmacy with resource allocation, team productivity and efficiencies, and budgetary information for informed decision-making.
- →Personnel Management Assures that annual performance appraisals for all functional team employees, including ongoing professional evaluations, are completed in accordance with current regulations and established time frames.
- →Participates in settling grievances, acts as liaison between FXHCC Pharmacy section employees, supervisors, and physicians and recommends action to be taken.
- →Works in conjunction with the FXHCC Pharmacy Section team and section supervisors to solve employee problems.
- →Assists Knowledge of Union/Management Agreement is sufficient for incumbent to advise Section Chief of FXHCC Pharmacy on employee relations.
- →Fiscal Management Analyzes expenditures and adequacy of funding and communicates need for additional funding or other changes in funding levels or requirements to Human Resources through the Section Chief of Pharmacy.
- →Coordinates development of documentation when requesting additional resources.
- →Serves as Pharmacy Section COR (Contracting Officer's Representative) Is designated by the Associate Chief of FXHCC Pharmacy as the responsible official for all property assigned to Pharmacy Section and assures that all necessary equipment is included in the preventive maintenance program.
- →Conducts inventory of Non-Expendable Equipment.
- →Assembles and analyzes equipment needs, after coordination with FXHCC program coordinators prioritizes equipment needs.
- →Serves as liaison between FXHCC Facilities Management and Pharmacy Section for all equipment orders, deliveries and problems that may arise.
