This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, Office of Evaluation and Inspections.

What You'll Do

  • Formulates the operating budget for assigned offices, ensuring alignment with program objectives, priorities, and commitments.
  • Monitors and adjusts budget execution using a variety of budgetary controls and automated systems.
  • Proactively identifies funding issues and initiates corrective actions.
  • Interprets and enforces federal travel regulations and provides accurate travel-related budget and accounting information.
  • Administers procurement for assigned offices, managing the acquisition of supplies and services using federal funds and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Reviews new administrative policies and directives, evaluates their operational impact and updates procedures to ensure timely compliance.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments of administrative processes to identify inefficiencies and implements improvements that streamline workflows and enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Oversees a portfolio of administrative and special projects by establishing priorities, monitoring milestones, and coordinating actions across teams to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Recommends, develops, and implements administrative policies and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Provides advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of administrative directives and instructions and ensures compliance across assigned offices.
  • Evaluates administrative operations through day-to-day observation, process analysis, and special studies; identifies current and emerging issues; and develops data-informed recommendations and action plans to resolve them.
  • Oversees human resources operations by managing personnel requirements, processing staffing and personnel actions, and maintaining accurate HR records for assigned offices.
