About the Role
The position is located at the Charles George VA Medical Center, Asheville, NC, and is organizationally aligned within the Emergency Medicine Service.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Performs management analyses, research projects and provides advisory services on technical compliance, data integrity, and achievement of numerous and varied performance measures for Emergency Medicine Service Line.
- →Use computer equipment with a wide variety of software such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Access, CPRS and VHA databases in order to extract and organize data, produce letters, memoranda, and prepare a variety of specific working documents and forms such as spreadsheets, database, word processing, desktop publishing, graphics and other similar products.
- →Reviews and revises memoranda, SOPs and delegations of authority which affect the operational processes and procedures of the Service Line.
- →Meets the needs of customers while supporting VA missions.
- →Consistently communicates and treats customers (veterans, their representatives, visitors, and all VA staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
- →Provides the customer with consistent information according to established policies and procedures.
- →Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately.
- →Serves as the service line expert subject matter on HR actions and ER/LR issues to include formal counseling, adverse actions, and terminations.
- →Serves as a key figure in assisting with recruitment and retention within the approved budget.
- →Adapt analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of program effectiveness and organizational productivity to ensure appropriate use of government resources.
- →Develop new or modified work methods, organizational structures, records and files, management processes, staffing patterns, procedures for administering program services, guidelines/procedures, and automating work processes for the conduct of administrative support functions or program operations.
- →Apply technical and clinical process knowledge to reach successful resolutions.
- →Gathering information, identifying, and analyzing interrelated issues, and developing recommendations to resolve problems of effectiveness, efficiency, and operational productivity within the Emergency Medicine Service programs.
- →Identify, analyze, and make recommendations to resolve problems and situations of workflow, patient experience, work distribution, staffing, performance appraisal, organizational structure, and/or administration.
