About the Role

Serves as the Administrative Officer CRSA Supervisor for the Anesthesia Service, providing comprehensive administrative management across Salisbury VAMC, Kernersville HCC, and Charlotte HCC. Supports anesthesia providers (Anesthesiologists, CRNAs, Advanced Practice Nurses, PAs) through expert management of credentialing, privileging, productivity capture, labor mapping, and anesthesia-specific systems including ARK, OPES, VA Surgical Package, and National Labor Mapping.

What You'll Do

  • Supervisory Duties (less than 25%) include but not limited to: Provides technical and administrative supervision to two staff members, assigning work, setting priorities, and evaluating performance.
  • Oversees recruitment actions, including job analyses, position descriptions, résumé reviews, and interview coordination.
  • Prepares performance plans, conducts appraisals, manages leave, and ensures training and personnel records remain current.
  • Identifies staff development needs, provides coaching and training guidance, and establishes performance standards and improvement plans.
  • Administers minor disciplinary actions, recommends higher-level actions when necessary, and resolves informal complaints and workplace issues.
  • Promotes equitable treatment and ensures compliance with EEO principles in all personnel actions.- Recommends appointments, promotions, reassignments, and delegates tasks to support efficient workflow and staff growth.
  • Administrative Duties (More than 75%) include but not limited to: Manages administrative operations for a multi-facility Anesthesiology Service, including pre-operative anesthesia and pain clinic program oversight, space and equipment planning, and development of HR, equipment, and space policies.
  • Oversees budget execution, procurement activities, contract coordination, resource planning, and supply/equipment management to support service operations.
  • Conducts ongoing analysis of workload, quality, productivity, and space utilization to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Develops and implements long- and short-range plans, policies, and procedures covering fiscal management, workforce utilization, construction/renovation, and administrative operations.
  • Ensures compliance with VA, VISN, VHA, and National Anesthesia Service directives, including NORAM and Moderate Sedation policies, and prepares/reviews official correspondence.
  • Performs analytical and evaluative work to support strategic planning, quality assurance, performance improvement initiatives, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Coordinates anesthesia administrative processes across three geographically separated facilities and completes required travel.
  • Quality Ranking Factor: Proven ability to provide comprehensive administrative support for a clinical service line, including strategic planning, cost-effective program development, statistical data management, clinical policy development, contract management, and cross-facility administrative coordination for anesthesia services.
