This position is located in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement (OPPE) which develops and maintains partnerships focused on solutions to challenges facing rural and underserved communities in the US. This position will be located in either Raleigh, North Carolina OR Fort Collins, Colorado. Salary listed will be adjusted depending on which location the selectee is located.
What You'll Do
- →Provides national leadership for the USDA Military Veterans Agricultural Liaison program.
- →Develops Department-wide policy guidance, long-range strategies, and program frameworks to expand veteran participation in USDA programs.
- →Serves as USDA’s principal liaison to the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Labor (DOL), Small Business Administration (SBA), and other federal and state entities.
- →Develops and executes national outreach strategies targeting transitioning service members, Guard and Reserve, veterans, and military families.
- →Develops internal policy guidance, best practices, and training materials for USDA staff.
- →Collects and analyzes program data to prepare accurate, policy aligned reports for OSEC, OPM, and other federal agencies, ensuring data quality, compliance with federal standards, and clear communication of findings and recommendations.
